Data Protection Training
Data protection law in the UK is evolving. Following a series of high profile data
security breaches, the Information Commissioner has been given stronger enforcement
powers. This includes the ability to fine organisations up to £500,000 for serious
breaches of the Data Protection Principles.
Breaches of the Data Protection Act can cause significant harm to businesses - including
adverse PR and resultant damage to reputation, loss of customer confidence, claims
for compensation and the criminal prosecution of company officers and employees.
At McClure Naismith we believe that prevention is better than cure. That is why
our Information Law team can provide you with practical and comprehensive in-house
data protection training. Our training is designed to ensure that your organisation
complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and reduce the risk of complaints and
enforcement action being taken against you.
Through the use of detailed training materials (which include practical examples
and case studies), our lawyers will work with you to help you understand how data
protection impacts upon you and your organisation.
